It is impossible to imagine Indian classical music without the tabla. This percussion instrument comprises a set of drums called the daaya (the higher-pitched of the two drums, to be played with the right hand) and the baaya (the lower toned drum to be played with the left hand). And if you think the tabla is limited, you’re wrong; it is increasingly being used experimentally as a fusion instrument. So you could certainly use your tabla skills to rock ‘n’ roll! Sign up for a class, and create magic!
This class will help you understand the fundamental elements of the Tabla, and play basic sounds and phrases on the instrument. The class will also equip you with the skills and the strength to progress to more advanced levels.
