Description
This tradition is a delight to both - the critic and the untrained ear. A product of historical happenstance, Hindustani Classical music was born of a fusion of cultures. The Islamic conquest of the Northern parts of the country in the 13th century provoked a blending of Hindu musical traditions with Persian and Arab practices. The Hindustani classical vocalist is often accompanied by a retinue of instruments - sitars, sarods, sarangis, shehnais, tablas, and more. The euphony of rhythms and vocals improvising together creates magic! And you’re just a click away from being a part of it.
This class will provide you with a good grasp of the fundamental elements of Hindustani Classical Music such as sruti and swara. You will also pick up an eclectic blend of traditional and modern vocal techniques to train your voice, and develop a unique musical identity.
