It is impossible to imagine Indian classical music without the tabla. This percussion instrument comprises a set of drums called the daaya (the higher pitched of the two drums, to be played with the right hand) and the baaya (the lower toned drum to be played with the left hand). And if you think the tabla is limited, you’re wrong; it is increasingly being used experimentally as a fusion instrument. So you could certainly use your tabla skills to rock ‘n’ roll! Sign up for a class, and create magic!
With this class, you will receive a sound introduction to the basics of the instrument, and learn to play a few simple musical phrases. The class will also equip you with the skills and discipline to pursue more advanced studies.
