It is impossible to imagine Indian classical music without the tabla. This percussion instrument comprises a set of drums called the daaya (the higher pitched of the two drums, to be played with the right hand) and the baaya (the lower toned drum to be played with the left hand). And if you think the tabla is limited, you’re wrong; it is increasingly being used experimentally as a fusion instrument. So you could certainly use your tabla skills to rock ‘n’ roll! Sign up for a class, and create magic!
If you're looking to learn the basics of the tabla, this could be the class for you. Once you are comfortable with the instrument, you'll learn a few techniques and musical phrases. This class will also equip you with the skills and temperament necessary to make progress.
